About us

Gas distribution networks around Australia are exploring the potential role of renewable gases in the energy system of the future.

Who we are

AGN (part of AGIG), Jemena, ATCO and Solstice Energy are all operators of gas (and in some cases electricity) infrastructure across Australia, covering Victoria, NSW, SA, QLD, WA and Tasmania. They ensure the gas you use for heating and cooking reaches your homes and businesses safely and reliably. They are united in their journey to develop and test renewable gases such as hydrogen and biomethane, and transition away from natural gas and towards low and zero carbon alternatives. Australians love having the choice to cook with gas, and MasterChef Australia is the perfect way to showcase what’s possible.

Australian Gas Networks

Part of Australian Gas Infrastructure Group which also includes Multinet Gas Networks and Dampier Bunbury Pipeline. We own and operate infrastructure that delivers gas to more than two million Australian homes and businesses. We also deliver gas that supports the Australian economy – for power generators, mines, and manufacturers. Our portfolio of companies delivers for customers across Australia. The combined distribution, transmission and storage assets make AGIG one of the largest gas infrastructure businesses in Australia.

Jemena

Jemena own and operate a large and diverse portfolio of energy assets including gas and electricity distribution networks, gas transmission pipelines and gas processing facilities.

Jemena is investing in renewable gases, low emission sources of gas supply, by tapping into resources like every day organic waste. We are proud of our investments in biomethane and hydrogen, having built one of the first Power-to-Gas trials to inject hydrogen into the gas distribution network and Australia’s first facility that injects biomethane into the gas network and is now GreenPower certified.

ATCO

ATCO specialise in creating innovative, customer-focused energy and infrastructure solutions. With decades of global experience in safe energy development, we own and operate Western Australia’s largest gas distribution network, with more than 14,500km of pipelines serving more than 800,000 customers. We also provide secure, reliable baseload power as the owners and operators of power generation in South Australia and in Karratha in Northwestern Australia. Building on our conventional energy businesses we’re researching, developing and investing in renewables including renewable gases to support the transition to a low-carbon energy future.
